“Nothing ventured…nothing Gained”
Inspiring youth in the Caribbean
After having worked with youth in Canada, US and UK, Sean decided to take his talks to the Caribbean. By working collaboratively with the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Education in Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent, Sean hopes to deliver more talks, staff training and multimedia workshops for the youth. Please see testimonial videos below.

Feedback…
“Excellent! In a time when in person experiences are shut down, Sean Mauricette gives a presentation that still reaches students. His use of music, examples of Black excellence that is rarely discussed, and his own personal stories ensured that our students were engaged, educated and entertained.”
Michael Marshall, Arts & Tech., Equity Lead, St. Roch Catholic Secondary School
“I have students stopping me in the hallway asking if they can get a copy of the recording because they want to show their parents! They said exactly what I thought they were going to say, "this was the best presentation ever!". You truly have a gift! Thank you again Sean.”
Jas Sidhu, Vice Principal (Acting), Streetsville Secondary School

Participant Feedback:
“The Photography workshop has been a tremendous help to my photo taking and especially with Sean as our mentor it was really easy to get a sense of what we were doing and he kept things fun, not once has it ever felt like it was a burden to be there. We all get to share how our day is going and the mentors take a keen interest in our mental health and it’s really building during this lockdown. I’d recommend this to a lot of people…”

“I thought the photography course was very chill, I really liked it. It was a nice break from life, and it was like that kind of family that is not actually family...even if you don’t know them. I enjoyed the check in’s, and even though we were learning stuff, it didn’t feel like it, and you could still be you...Sean was always upbeat and really respectful to us...at times give us life advice...I really appreciated it. I loved how he made it all feel very comforting and safe. It was a very fun course!”

“Our child participated in both photography and videography sessions with Sean and both were fantastic. He paced the sessions to their level, kept the kids engaged and feedback positive and constructive. Sean's guidance always led to a better final product without feeling any insecurity about their first efforts. Over the time of the sessions, he developed a rapport with each of the kids and even us as parents. He had little in-jokes with the kids, making them all feel like a team. No matter what the challenges were, he could make the kids feel capable of meeting it. We were impressed by the final products, and even family members who came to the final presentation were amazed with all of the art on display. It was incredible what they could accomplish with his guidance.”
